There is a particular kind of software that wins by going unnoticed. It loads quickly, asks for nothing, and leaves the user holding the only thing that mattered: their work.

We tend to celebrate the loud kind — the splash screen, the onboarding tour, the badge of completion. But quiet software outlives them. It accumulates trust the way a well-worn jacket does, by not failing on a cold morning.

If you are building, ask which of your features would still be there in five years. Then ask which of them the user would notice if you removed tomorrow. The overlap is your real product.
